Environment

Bush Regeneration is a collection of monoprints that explored the harshness of the Australian Bush environment with a focus on bushfires and raising awareness of the effects of global warming on our climate.

Art can consider important issues and be beautiful. This contradiction intrigues me. The greys and blacks represent the charcoal and ash seen in the bush after a fire. The leaves of Banksias and other plants in greys, blacks and whites is as plants appear after a fire has ravaged an area. The spots and round shapes loosely represent seeds which appear and are often activated to germinate after the fire triggering renewed growth in the bush landscape.
